Overview:


Use this article for help exporting data from 1Password and importing into Bitwarden. Bitwarden offers a fully functional importer tool to help migrate your data from LastPass into Bitwarden. As you follow along this article, you will learn how to export your passwords from 1Password, and then how to import them into Bitwarden. 


NOTE:  All your 1Password passwords will be exported in a single CSV file. This file needs to be permanently deleted AFTER migrating into Bitwarden.

Export from1Password:

  •  Since 1Password originates from MSP. We have found this support article from 1Password's Support. Depending on which version of 1Password that was used, follow the appropriate export steps in this link.

Import to Bitwarden:

  1.   Login to your Bitwarden web vault: https://vault.bitwarden.com/
  2.   Navigate to the top ribbon and select "Tools". From there click on "Import Data" on the side menu. 

  3. You will need to select Format import type and then the CSV you exported from the previous section which can be found in your downloads
    1. Select My Vault as Destination
    2. Select the File format depending on your 1Password export
    3. Choose your file from where you saved your export

  4. Select "Import data" once format and file have been selected
  5. A new prompt will appear with a small summary of the different items that were imported. You will know you are successful if you see a similar screen to this screenshot below:  

  6. You will see all your folders with their respective passwords along your Vaults menu 

  7. After successful import, delete the import source file (Password_export.csv) from your saved location. This will protect you in the event your security is compromised.
