Overview:


This article will show our contractors how to connect to the SHTSapp2 server using our remote login process.

  • Establishing VPN connection
  • Remoting into the server


Section 1:

  1.   Open the GlobalProtect app from the app tray                                                                                                                      
  2. If you don't already have remote3.smith-howard.com as one of your portals to connect to you can do that by managing your portals. Start at the portal label and click on the dropdown arrow. Once there you will click on "Manage Portals."
  3. A pop-up should appear of your GlobalProtect settings. There you will add the portal by clicking on the "Add" button on the bottom left corner. You will enter "Remote3.smith-howard.com" as the address and save
  4. Once you have added the portal select it and click on the "Connect button. It will start to connect and then prompt you to enter your username and password. Enter the credentials we provided.

  6.  The username we provide should begin with "ctr-" once you sign in, GlobalProect should look like this.

Section 2:

 

  1. Now that you are connected to the VPN navigate to a web browser. In this example I will be using Google Chrome. Once you have opened google chrome go to this website: remote.smith-howard.com. Once you are in enter the same credentials that you used for GlobalProtect and sign in.

  3. Once you are in you should see a screen similar to this. Open the SHTSAPP2 and it will download the Remote Desktop Connection App. Once it downloads open or run the download.
  4. Once you run the Remote Desktop Connection, it will prompt you to enter your credentials again. It should look something like the screenshot below. When entering your credentials ENTER: "shdom\" BEFORE your credentials like in the screenshot.

  6. Once you enter your credentials it will connect and a new window will appear signing you into the Remote Desktop.
