This article includes the types of headphones that can be used with Cisco Jabber. This application is included with all firm-issued workstations and can be used, among other things, to receive and control phone calls.


Requirements

  • Firm-issued workstation
  • Firm-issued telephone number/Extension
  • Connection to the Firm network via wired, in office wireless, or VPN
  • Jabber running and signed in

Overview

When Jabber uses your computer for phone calls, it will try to use your laptop's speakers and microphones as a "Speakerphone". You also have the option of purchasing a third-party headset to plug into your laptop that can be used by Jabber during phone calls. In order for Jabber to be able to use a set of headphones during a call, they need to have:
  • A built-in speaker or speakers
  • A built in microphone
  • An input for your laptop, which can be
    • A 3.5 mm audio jack

  • A USB Type-C connector (For use with laptops with USB-C)
