This article includes instructions on how to add contacts within Cisco Jabber. This application is included with all firm-issued workstations and can be used, among other things, to collaborate with corporate and personal contacts.


Requirements

  • Firm-issued workstation
  • Firm-issued telephone number/Extension
  • Connection to the Firm network via wired, in office wireless, or VPN
  • Jabber running and signed in

Overview

Jabber can save and organize a list of contacts that you collaborate with frequently. These contacts can be pulled either from the corporate directory or the contacts saved in your Outlook. For more information about Jabber, see:

    Adding a Firm Directory contact through the Hub window menu

    1.  In the Hub window, click the menu "gear" button in the upper right corner
    2. Select File>New>Company Contact
    3. The "Add Contacts" window will open
    4. Start typing the person's name to search the directory, or enter the username directly if you know it.
    5. Select which group to add the new contact to and click Add.

    1. In the Hub window, enter the name of a co-worker in the search bar at the top
    2. Mouse over the information panel that comes up, then click the "+" (Add) button
    3. The "Add Contacts" window will open with the contact entered. Click "Add" to add the contact
