This article includes instructions on how to change the Call Handling Mode within Cisco Jabber. This application is included with all firm-issued workstations and can be used, among other things, to place and control phone calls.
Requirements
- Firm-issued workstation
- Firm-issued telephone number/Extension
- Connection to the Firm network via wired, in office wireless, or VPN
Overview
Jabber has the ability to control phone calls made to and from your extension. The call handling mode that Jabber is set to determines what Jabber controls. The three call handling modes are:
- Use my computer for calls - Jabber will start and receive calls on your computer. Calls will still go to your desk phone as well, but Jabber will not control the desk phone
- Use my phone for calls - Jabber will act as a remote control for your desk phone, calls cannot be made through the computer
- Forward my calls to... - Forwards all incoming calls to another destination, either internal or external
