Requirements:
- An available wireless connection
- You must know the name and password of the connection.
- Smith & Howard issued laptop.
Warning: When connecting to a wireless network, it is strongly recommended to always use a trusted wireless network.
However if one is not available, please use the Smith & Howard VPN, even when browsing the internet to ensure security.
How to know networks you can trust? Some good guidelines:
- The WiFi should have a Lock to show it is secure and should be provided by someone you know personally (family, close family friend, etc.)
- If provided in public and not secured be sure you know the name of the network. Check with the establishment, don’t assume. Some “hackers” user similar names for wireless networks like “attandt” instead of “attwireless” or “xfinity free” instead of “xfinity” or even “Free Public”.
- If unsure, don’t use the WiFi as they may be hacking the traffic and attacking the computer all without you knowing!
