Overview:


This is a short article that guides users on how to update a setting in Adobe Acrobat for large documents or PDFs that members are met with the application crashing, "Not Responding", or looping/getting stuck at a loading prompt. 


To correct crashing or stuck reading prompts, change the Screen Reader Options: 

 

  • Launch Adobe Acrobat
  • Open Edit menu> Select Preferences > Reading >Under Screen Reader Options >Change Page vs Document to For large documents, only read the currently visible pages > OK
  • If this does not, please try changing Page vs Document to Only read the currently visible pages.
