Requirements:

  • Adobe Acrobat
  • Windows Settings > Printers and Scanners
  • PDF for testing

Overview:


This article will guide S+H member on resolving the Distiller Notepad message when trying to Print to PDF through Adobe Acrobat. 


Windows Settings:

  1. Using the Start Menu (Windows Key) search Printers & Scanners
  2. Select Adobe PDF, click Open queue                                                                                                                
  3. In the new window select Printer, Click Printing Preferences
  4. Adobe PDF Settings tab will open where the Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts will need to be unchecked
  5. Apply for the changes to be made then click OK to close out of this menu. 

Testing with PDF:

  1. Now that the changes have been made in the Printer & Scanners menu, test with a PDF (preferably one where the Notepad launching was experienced) to confirm that S+H member is no longer met with the Notepad launching when trying to Print to PDF.
