Overview:


This article will guide the S+H member on resolving the #NAME? issue when linking CW workpapers with Excel or Word file. 

  • Downloading CaseWare in Company Portal
  • Checking to see if all the Add-in are enabled


Downloading Connector:

  1. Close all Office Apps (Word,Excel,Outlook, ETC
  2. Open Company Portal and browse for CaseWare Connector 
  3. Once installed you will see the Add-instab appear within Excel and you will see the CW linkage options.
    • Note: If you still see the #NAME? error within Excel follow the next section!

Enabling CW UDF Connector:

  1. Open Excel and select File in the top left corner
  2. From there select Options in bottom left corner a new window will appear 

  3. On the left menu side, navigate to Add-Ins
  4. You will then see a dropdown that lets you manage different add-in types. Change the dropdown to Excel Add-ins and select Go
  5. A new pop-up will appear. Please select Browse to add the excel Add-in. Go to the file location: C:\Program Files (x86)\CaseWare Connector

  6. Select the CWConnector add-in and select OK
  7. This will now add the UDF connector. Make sure it is checked 

  8. Retry doing a CW linkage and the #Name error will be gone.
