Requirements:

  • Laptop
  • Dell Monitor U2424HE (built-in docking station)
  • Dell Monitor C2423H  (built-in camera/mic)
  • USB-C to USB-C Cable
  • DP to DP Cable
  • USB-C to USB Cable


Overview:

  1. Identify which monitor has built-in docking station (U2424HE)
  2. Connect monitor U2424HE directly to laptop using USB-C to USB-C cable,
    Note: On monitor U2424HE, USB-C cable is plugged into port labeled with DP+55W 
  3. Using the joystick on the back of monitor U2424HE, turn on the MST setting under Display
  4. Make sure monitor U2424HE is set as external display via display settings on laptop
  5. Connect monitor C2423H to monitor U2424HE using the DP to DP cable
    Note: 
    • On monitor C2423H, the DP cable is plugged into the port labeled with DP (no symbol)
    • On monitor U2424HE, the DP cable is plugged into the port labeled with DP+outgoing symbol (circle with arrow pointing out)
  6. Connect audio/visual capabilities for monitor C2423H to monitor U2424HE using the UBS-C to USB cable
    Note: 
    • On monitor C2423H, the USB-C cable is plugged into the port labeled with the USB symbol+VAA
    • On monitor U2424HE, the USB cable is plugged into the port labeled with USB symbol+SS
  7. Make sure monitors are arranged and numbered in order via display settings on laptop
