This article will guide the member on how to resolve the Server Busy error prompt when accessing engagements in CaseWare Working Papers. This will go through two resolutions for the error the experienced:

1. Setting Default Printer

2. Updating CV file settings. 


 

Setting Default Printer:

  1.   Close out of all instances of CaseWare Working Papers
  2. Open Settings Menu and navigate to Printers and Scanners -- Can be searched for in search bar or going through Settings> Devices > Printers and Scanners                                                                                                                                                                                                     A screenshot of a computerDescription automatically generated
  3. In the Printer and Scanner settings the Let Windows Manage my default printer check box must be unchecked (scroll to the bottom of page), once unchecked search through the printers for CaseView PDF 2022. Once CaseView PDF 2022 is found, click on the printer and select the Manage button.A screenshot of a computerDescription automatically generated
  4. Updating CV Files:

* IF THE ABOVE DID NOT RESOLVE THIS CONTINUE TO THESE STEPS*

  1. This will be done in File Explorer, close out of all instances of CaseWare Working Papers and launch File Explorer
  2. To edit the file we need access to we will navigate through the C: drive (Local Disk) > Program Files (x86) > CaseWare                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             A screenshot of a computerDescription automatically generated
  3. In the CaseWare folder scroll down until CV.VER file is found, it may also show up as just CV.   1. When the CV file is open in Notepad the following lines need to be added to resolve the Server Busy error, this can be done by copying and pasting the lines below:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                SendToDisableServerBusy
     ExcelDisableServerBusy
     ExcelDisableServerBusyCV
     UpdateDisableServerBusy=1
     CopyDisableServerBusy=1
  2.
