Requirements:

  • File Explorer
  • OneDrive
  • Edge

Overview:

This article will go through the steps to do the following:

  • Sync OneDrive with folders in File Explorer that need to sync

Checking OneDrive in Taskbar:

1. Look for the OneDrive icon in task bar which is near the battery, Wi-Fi, and volume icons.

    • If the OneDrive Icon is not visible in the taskbar, use the Start Menu to search for the OneDrive file and open it. Once opened the OneDrive logo should appear in the taskbar and begin syncing.

2. Click on the icon which will open a drop-down screen where Open Folder, View Online, and Recycle Bin are shown.

3. Select View Online where a web browser for SharePoint will open up.

4. Once SharePoint OneDrive is open, Navigate to the group folder under Quick Access. Once here you can select between the groups and select between a few options including Add Shortcut to My Files, Sync, and Pin to Quick Access. Select Sync to have folders sync with FileExplorer.

5. When the Sync process is complete you can check these folders/files and check the Status. When the Status has a cloud or green checkmark the folder or file is up to date.
