This article will guide Smith + Howard on how to create a personal Bitwarden account linked to your S+H account plan. Management of said passwords are up to the user. We do not provide support with the management of these accounts. This is out of our jurisdiction. Please use the sections below on how to setup your Personal Family Account

NOTE: S+H Technology Team will not have visibility or access to and the ability to support this personal family account. This is a benefit made available by Bitwarden to all Smith + Howard Family of Companies as long as you are an employee.

Using a Families organization, securely share vault data between yourself and up to five friends or family members. Families organizations include premium Bitwarden features for all six users, including advanced two-step login methods, encrypted file attachments, emergency access, and more.


This article below will assist S+H members on how to redeem their Family account benefit. 

  1. Log in to the S+H Bitwarden account here: https://vault.bitwarden.com/#/vault

  2. Select the profile icon and choose Account settings from the dropdown:

  3. From the Account Settings menu, select Free Bitwarden Families: 

  4. Choose Smith + Howard on the first dropdown and enter a personal email address that will manage your Family Account

  5. In your inbox, you will receive an email from Bitwarden inviting you to accept the sponsorship offer: 

  6. If there is a Bitwarden account associated with the provided personal email, log in. If there is not an account associated with the personal email, you will be directed to the Create Account screen.

  7. Once you have logged in, you will be directed to a screen where you can finish redeeming your sponsorship for a New Families Organization or an Existing Families Organization:  Note: DO Not Include any S+H Family of Company Emails 

    Fill in the following information: Note: DO Not Include any S+H Family of Company Emails 

    • An Organization Name (This is just the name of your family account)

    • A Billing Email (Personal email that will manage the billing information for this Family Account)

    • Whether you want to add Additional Storage (GB). Your sponsorship covers 1 GB free.

    • Payment Information

    • You won't have to make any payments for the Families organization as long as you are an active member of the sponsoring organization, unless you add Additional Storage. When you are done filling in your information, select Submit.
