Overview:


This article is going will guide Tax Admins on how to Transfer Returns to the different internal accounts that handle 1040s, 990s, and Personal Taxes.

The process in composed of 4 steps:

  • Selecting Source Account 
  • Choosing the Returns
  • Transfer Type (Move or Copy)
  • Destination 

There are multiple Groups within GST , and they all belong to specific Locations. Here are the following

Locations:

  • HOME (9242) - Internally processed returns
    • Groups
      • Sureprep
      • Tax Group
      • Tax Preparers
      • Tax Reviewers
  • SP104X  (EX6A) - 1040/1041  Outsourcing team
    • Groups
      • Outsourcing
  • SP990X (EX6B) - 990's Outsourcing team
    • Groups
      • Outsourcing
  • STAFF (EX5Z) - Personal Returns
    • Groups
      • Internal


Transferring Returns:

  1. Admins will have permissions to Transfer Internal Locators. Navigate to the "Returns Processing" Tab and select "Transfer" on the side menu

  2. You will be prompted to select a "Source Account". (Usually 9242) This can be done through the dropdown. Once selected, continue to the next step by selecting "Next"


  3. You will then be prompted a list of all returns within the Source account select. Choose the Return(s) that you would like to transfer and then continue by selecting "Next"

  4. Next we will be selecting the Transfer Type. Always select Move, as the copy will use consume another locator and CLICK Next.

  5. Select the Internal Account you wish to move the Return to. You can select the Account via the dropdown. Once selected you will be able to finish by clicking "Done"

  6. The Return with its locator will be transferred to the Subaccount and ready for assigning to the Outsourcing Team.
