Overview:


Practice Engine is a full-featured practice management application that offers excellent time and billing functionality. Practice Engine is used by every user in the firm whether it is for timesheets, client, and staff reporting, or leave requests.

This article will guide users on how to turn this routinely used web service into a Windows app for enhanced accessibility and efficiency. 



Installing PE as an App:

  1. First you will open Edge and navigate to Practice Engine to Sign-In: https://smithhoward.pehosted.com/PE/Staff/Dashboard
  2. Once you are in PE's dashboard, you will want to go into your web browser's settings. Within these settings, find the Apps selection. This should expand where you will be able to "Install this site as an App."


  3. After you have selected to install, a pop-up will appear that will allow you to name the app as it will appear on your computer. Select Install after naming the app.

  4. Practice Engine will reappear as an app with a settings prompt that will allow you to change some accessibility options. These options include Pinning to the taskbar, creating a desktop shortcut, and auto-starting at sign-in.

  5. Once that is completed your installation is done and your app is ready to operate.
