Requirements:
- Firm issued account
- Access to the firm's resources hosted in Microsoft's Office 365 services
- An iOS or iPadOS device (iPhone or iPad)
- Microsoft Authenticator already SETUP
Overview:
Enrollment is the process of adding the firm's management policies to your device, allowing it to access firm email, files, and apps. This enrollment will ensure that firm data is secured on your device, while keeping your personal information on your device private. The enrollment process is done by the user through the Company Portal app. These instructions will guide you through the enrollment process for your iPhone or iPad.
NOTE: With these mobile management policies, email will no longer be accessible from your device's native email client. If you had previously added your firm account to your device in this manner, it will NEED to be REMOVED. For instructions on how to do this, as provided by an outside group, please see these instructions:
Firm Account Information:
Username: this is your email address (NOTE: [email protected], for Wealth Management staff please use [email protected] as your username. Your emails will still come from @smithhowardwelath.com)
Password: your Windows/ network logon password
New Security Requirements for Your Device:
Your device will be required to meet minimum firm requirements for security once it is enrolled. If your device does not currently meet these requirements, it will prompt you to make any necessary changes during the enrollment. These requirements may also apply to any watches or wearables linked to your device. Some common security settings that will be changed include:
- A 6-digit (or stronger) PIN will be required for your device and any linked watches
- Notifications will only show information on an unlocked device
Enrolling Your Device
To enroll your device, you will first need to install the Company Portal app. Once it is downloaded and you have signed into your firm account, it will guide you through enrolling your device.

Go to the App Store and download Company Portal
- Click this link on your phone to download: Intune Company Portal app

Open the Company Portal app
- Sign in using your Smith + Howard credentials
- Sign in using your Smith + Howard credentials

On the set up access screen, select "Begin"

- The app will display privacy information for what will happen once your device is enrolled. Tap "Continue" to continue enrollment
- The Company Portal will attempt to download a configuration profile to your device. Tap "Allow" to download the profile and then select Continue

The Company will download the profile to your device and display the steps that you will need to follow to complete enrollment. The steps are:

Follow the steps below to reach your IOS's General settings.
- Once you reach Enroll my Iphone/Ipad your screen will look like the following

Enroll and wait for it to finish. Once finished, navigate back to the Company Portal App

If any changes need to be made to meet enrollment requirements, the portal will prompt you to adjust as necessary.
- NOTE: A common change that needs to be made is to make a longer PIN code.

You will then be prompted to choose a category for your device. As this is a personal device, choose "Personal Device"
- Once you finish your screen should similar to this where you can switch between Apps and Devices using the bottom menu.
