Requirements:

  • Firm issued laptop with CaseWare Working Papers installed and activated
  • A SmartSync file copy on your local computer
  • An active connection to the Firm network via local office connection (best), in office WiFi (second best), or VPN (recommend high speed connection)

Overview:


CaseWare Working Papers may lose connection to the Parent copy of a file that you have synchronized locally to your machine. In this event, you will need to re-connect your SmartSync copy to the Parent stored on the server


Reconnecting with Parents

  1. Open CaseWare Working Papers
  2. Open the SmartSync copy of the file that is not synchronizing correctly
  3. Once the file is open, click on the "Offline" icon in the lower right corner of the window

  4. From the menu that comes up, click "Connect to SmartSync Copy..."

  5. Navigate to the Parent file for the CaseWare file that you are using and select it, then click "Ok"
  6. The file should start synchronizing again automatically, but if it does not then click the "Offline" icon again and then manually uncheck the "Work Offline" option
