  • Firm issued computer
  • Internet Explorer
  • Firm OneDrive setup and working

Overview:

This article will walk you through backing up and restoring your Internet Explorer Favorites or Bookmarks from your current computer to your new computer. This will not save any usernames, passwords, or logons you may have saved.


  • Backing up Favorites to OneDrive
  • Restoring Favorites from OneDrive


Backing up Favorites to OneDrive:

  1.  Open Internet Explorer
  2. Click on the STAR in the upper right hand corner


  3. In the FAVORITES window click on the DOWN arrow next to ADD TO FAVORITES


  4. Choose IMPORT AND EXPORT from the menu


  5. Choose EXPORT TO A FILE from the new window, click NEXT


  6. Choose FAVORITES, click NEXT


  7. Choose the top folder (generally FAVORITES), click NEXT


  8. Choose OneDrive - Smith & Howard PC as the save location, then EXPORT


  9. Click FINISH

Restoring Favorites from OneDrive:

 

  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Click on the STAR in the upper right hand corner


  3. In the FAVORITES window click on the DOWN arrow next to ADD TO FAVORITES


  4. Choose IMPORT AND EXPORT from the menu


  5. Choose IMPORT FROM A FILE, click NEXT


  6. Click FAVORITES, click NEXT


  7. Browse to your OneDrive - Smith & Howard, PC folder and find the file you exported before, click NEXT


  8. Choose the top folder FAVORITES, click IMPORT


  9. Click FINISH when done
