Taking Screen Clippings:

Note: Before closing out of any error messages or issues, please use this tool to save and attach images for Help Desk tickets as they will help in part of diagnosing/resolving issues attributed to your error.

1. Have your error or item you would like to take a snippet of on your screen.

2. Navigate to the Start menu located on the bottom left of your desktop.


3. Select “All apps”


4. Navigate down to “Windows Accessories.” The Snipping Tool will be located there.


5. Left mouse click once on the Snipping Tool to open the program.


6. Left mouse click on New to begin clipping a part of your screen.


7. A cross-hair or plus sign will display. With your left mouse click button, hold it down to drag across the section you would like to capture. Release the left mouse click button to stop clipping.


8. There will be a popup in the Snipping Tool that will display your screen clipping.


9. In the highlighted box below is the option to send an email to the Help Desk. This will open Outlook. Enter any additional details in the email for the IT Department.
